It is important that all dance shoes are checked by your child’s teacher before being worn in class so they may be returned or exchanged if necessary. Proper fit is extremely important for both comfort and technique.
When standing flat with full weight on the floor, the dancer’s toes should not be bent or curled inside the shoe. There should also be little to no space between the tip of the big toe and the end of the shoe when the dancer slightly lifts their heel off the floor.
Ballet shoes should not be purchased with extra room to “grow into.” They should fit properly from the first day of class. As your dancer’s feet grow throughout the season, an additional pair of shoes may be needed.
Dance warm ups may be worn for the first 10 minutes of class by teacher discretion
